My dear Isabella, you are officially one year old! Well, technically you will be exactly one year old at 6:22 am but we will all hopefully still be sleeping then.
I am baking cupcakes (yes, at midnight, you've had a good hand in changing my sleeping habits) and as I wait, I wanted to leave you some facts about your first year.
You were born at 6:22 am on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The doctor who delivered you was Dr. Kenneth McAlpine. You were 5 lbs and 15 oz, about a pound lighter than the doctors were expecting and 19 inches long. As soon as you were born, dad and I talked to you right away and you recognized our voices. We had to stop and let you cry (because that's what babies lungs need at that moment). Once they took you to do the normal testing, dad followed and the next thing he said to me was "Oh my God, she has red hair!".
Your hair is still red. And there isn't much more than there was when you were born.
The last time you were weighed you were 17 lbs and 2 oz. You are just starting to wear 9 month clothes!
You have ten teeth. You are currently working on numbers 11 and 12.
Your favorite playmate is Ian Thomas Brooks. Despite the fact he is two months younger than you, he is several pounds bigger and much taller. As his mom would say "Petite is neat". You've also looked to him to perfect some of your milestones, like crawling. You army crawled for months while Ian was crawling on his knees. One play date you were staring him down and then all the sudden, boom, you were on your knees.
These are just a few of many stores for you. This year has been the hardest but the most rewarding year of my life. Its amazing to watch you grow from just a little baby who ate, slept, pooped and cried to a pretty little girl who is sweet but fiery. Yup, already little Miss Personality.
I love you.
